In 1990, Mr. Shi Zhengjin, Technical Director of Jointas Chemical initiated to establish the Antas Construction Sealant Research and Development Center. In 2004, the center and South China University of Technology jointly established the postgraduate education base and the demonstration base for the combination of production, teaching and research under the Ministry of Education. The center also worked together with Maoming Branch of China Petrochemical Co., Ltd., China International Marine Containers and other listed enterprises in the research and development of science and technology environment-friendly products.
The Research and Development Center has great strength in technology and has applied for 12 patents for invention, 8 of which have been authorized, involving water-based sealant, water-based paint and other environment-friendly products. The company has participated in the drafting and revision of silicone structural sealant for insulating glass, fire-proof sealant, sealants for stone and other national standards.
The research and development team of the company is made up of over 30 professionals with doctor’s and master’s degrees and has established scientific and rigorous training and management mechanism.

He is the Director of Guangdong Technology Research Center for Special Coating, Director of the High-performance and Environment-friendly Nanometer Composite Coating Production, Study and Research Base of Guangdong Province/Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Coating Industry Association, Director of GUANGDONG MATERIALS RESEARCH SOCIETY, editorial board member of Paint and Coatings Industry, member of the Aluminum Windoor Curtain Wall Committee of China Construction Metal Structure Association, head of the Anticorrosive Coatings Group of Guangdong Coasting Industry Technology Exchange Center, Member of Guangdong Paint and Coating Standard Technology Committee. He is now mainly engaged in the study of the preparation of organic and inorganic nanometer compound material, the preparation, molding and processing of high polymer material and the preparation of water-based paint. He has chaired over national funds of natural science, production, study and research combination project of Guangdong Province and the Ministry of Education, the Hi-tech Park Key projects of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Province Key Technology research projects, key scientific and technological research projects in Guangzhou, Guangzhou Construction Science and Technology Research projects and other more than 20 scientific research projects. He has published over 70 academic papers, applied for 14 national patents for invention, 9 of which have been authorized. Two provincial scientific and technological research findings have passed the certification. Among them, the Nanometer compound water-based in-tank metal corrosion prevention and antistatic coating has filled in the gap of domestic market and reach the world advanced level. He has ever won the second prize of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Scientific and technological advancement award and the third prize of the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection Scientific and technological advancement award and the labor model of national petroleum and chemical industry.
Lin Kunhua, born in 1962 and graduated from the chemistry department of Wuhan University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in organic chemistry.
He joined Guangzhou Jointas Chemical Co., Ltd. In 1998 and developed container sealant between 1990 and 1992, which has never been seen before in China and has exerted great influence in the industry. The container sealant initiatively developed by Mr. Lin Kunhua has remained the top brand in the world and made up over 60% of the market shares around the world.
He started the research and development of construction silicone sealant in 1999 and has developed series of products of more than 40 varieties, including the construction-use silicone sealant, mold-proof sealant and the silicone sealant for hollow glasses used in the project.
He has participated in the drafting and formulation of three national standards and three industrial standards.
Pan Shouwei, born in 1980, graduated from Hubei University in 2007 with the master’s degree in polymeric chemistry and physics.
He has published 2 academic papers and acquired 2 patents for invention. He is mainly engaged in the research and development of water-based container sealant.
Chen Jianhua, born in 1971, senior engineer, mainly participates in the research and development of water-based construction coatings, container-use water-based floor paint, dry hanging glue for stones. He has acquired 3 patents for invention and published 8 academic papers.
Chen Haihong, born in 1981, graduated from the chemical engineering Institute of South China University of Technology with master’s degree
He is mainly engaged in the research and development of nanometer compound construction internal and external wall latex paint, water-based metal corrosion-prevention coating, water-based container corrosion-prevention coating. He has acquired 4 national patents for invention and has undertaken 4 provincial and municipal science and technology project, published 7 academic papers.
Yu Fei, born in 1982, graduated from the Institute of Materials Engineering, South China University of Technology with doctor’s degree in macromolecule. Between 2012 and Jul. 2014, he studied at the postdoctoral workstation in the Chemical Engineering Institute of South China University of Technology. He has been engaged in the preparation, distribution and application research of nanometer materials and the development of water-based functional coating. He acquires 4 patents for invention and has published several academic papers in SCI, EI journals.
